Interurban
The clients sought a quietly elegant, comfortable home with a strong connection to the outdoors. Their vision was for a well-used, practical space that would serve as a gathering place for their family of four, with a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor activities. Both parents work from home, and their children enjoy home-centered weekends.
The design focused on light-colored, natural stone countertops in durable quartzite featuring a leather finish. White oak was chosen for cabinetry and floors to create a light, neutral interior. Light gray accents in the kitchen and Venetian plaster walls at the fireplace softened the design, creating a balanced aesthetic. The same approach was carried through to the bathrooms and other spaces, prioritizing materials that are both practical and harmonious with the home’s architecture.
A few moments of surprise, like the large-scale patterns and color in the primary bedroom and powder room wallpapers, were added to bring unexpected interest to the home.
