Madison Park Residence

The Owners purchased this home as an urban sanctuary for their recently emptied nest. A noteworthy Roland Terry design, the house was built in 1949 and remained in near to original condition. While the architecture and space planning of the public spaces were classic and elegantly modern, the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms had functional challenges. The clients worked with the design team to redesign the floor plans in order to maximize daylight, simplify the flow between spaces and to increase the function of all areas of the house. The interior colors and materials were modified to create contrast and modernity through the use of warm white, silvery grey, and deep brown/black window trim that highlights the now mature gardens and Lake Washington views.
